What's up my fellow Motorcycle enthusiasts? Got the first half inch dusting of snow today. 34 deg. and damp.. Yes, if my rear tire was up I'd be rolling the DR650 today, but I get my first Spinal Injection at 1:30pm today and the tire is still flat, so we'll call it even for this year..
I been thinking a lot about Brotherhood lately.. The ridiculous laws being enforced in Australia and the American President.. I've become thoroughly convinced that Brotherhood is the only answer for survival! Ya know. Might as well say that the Outlaw Biker culture we see today, was created by Ex-Military men coming back from a strenuous World War. Needing to blow off some steam and refusing to accept the AMA as a higher Motorcycle Authority! Hell, them boys just got done RIPPING them Harleys across Europe!! Well, everyone should agree when I say that "Outlaw" Clubs were a band TOGETHER, pretty much through the 70's. After drugs really came into the picture and money became the object, Clubs kind of took a hit. Society as a whole took quite a hit.. But Brotherhood (and that includes ALL the Sisters out there too!!) STILL shows itself and what we started out as: one consolidated riding community that cares for itself. Where if you're broke down on the road, someone WILL stop to offer help! I see it more and more! I've stopped for Patched solo riders and cross country Sportbike riders alike! I ride and I'VE never had to walk to a gas station from a stopped Bike. When I see a Rider on foot, you can count on a Ride back to your Bike and I'll usually flip for fuel on a good day. Thats just how we do it in the Heartland!
And that's what it's gonna take I'm afraid. When this theory about racism being propogated by only white families, started trickling through schools by the NEA, families of ALL colors united over this ridiculous mantra and disassociated themselves and their schools from the NEA. And by God it worked! Schools all over threatened to do the same and that theory is being removed from suggested curriculum! Brotherhood, united and ROLLIN' strong! When Uncle Joe and the Mickey Mouse Club, asks to mandate a ban of American club colors or logos like they've done, just say NO! Nancy Regan will send you cookies, JUST SAY NO! When a group of committed individuals stands up for common sense and discrimination, you'd be AMAZED at what you can do!
Keep in mind that the BEST method of keeping involved and aware is just making friends with those in the community that share your opinions. Brotherhood is one of the only ways that an immediate action can be felt. When a law is put on the books for a trial run, let EVERY member know in your groups! Phone calls from out of state concerned Bikers are taken seriously at the 1000 calls per hour level. Be pleasant but firm explaining your frustration, we're NOT stupid! But we have forgotten a lot about Brotherhood... I believe it's time to get reaquainted!
Yeah, tried not to sound like an activist, but DAMN, its gettin' REAL! I'd better hit my pain appointment, so I'll cut out! I've met some DAMN fine men and women in these groups, I'm not too worried about uniting to fight the Bullshit, I'm not sure that John Q Public is ready, but I AM! ✌🏻
